Intuitively created this painting based on my cousin’s life of domestic abuse for a fairly long time.
Domestic abuse has a long-lasting impact. It impacts not just the person who has gone through the abuse, but also the children in that household. Depending on the severity of the abuse, these children may potentially grow up to become abusers themselves or believe that its ok to be abused. Thus, continuing the cycle of abuse…
More awareness on domestic abuse as well as a safe place for people to seek help goes a long way in breaking this cycle.
Fun fact: this painting was exhibited at the RBSA Gallery, Birmingham.
